I met Emma when I was 33 weeks pregnant and had just been told that my baby had growth restriction and would need to be delivered as soon as possible. Needless to say it was an extremely stressful time and Emma’s calm support and positivity was just what I needed. In spite of having a premature baby in the NICU, with all kinds of differing advice flying around, Emma’s steady concern and guidance got me to a point of being able to provide expressed breast milk for my little boy.
With her continued support and guidance once we were discharged, I was even able to exclusively breastfeed my baby, which meant the world to me, as that was what I had hoped for from the start. Many other people (including a pediatrician and some NICU nurses) told me that it was extremely unlikely that I would ever be able to do that, but Emma was with me every step of the way, with endless encouragement and kindness. She was so compassionate and caring that I really looked forward to her my visits with her!
I was able to ask her anything, from how much milk to give my baby or which cold medication was safe for breastfeeding to which ultrasonographer I should see for a lump in my breast, and get a well informed answer.
If you are even considering whether or not you need help with lactation, early motherhood, I would definitely recommend getting in touch with Emma. I can open-heartedly say that she changed my life for the better!
